Dublin, Ireland
Dublin was the first stop on mine and my friend Tiff’s mini Euro tour. We did a lot of drinking and eating but we did manage to squeeze in some sight seeing along the way. A friend from Dublin recommended to stay away from the Temple bar area and it was such good advice.
Love lane
Take a look at these gorgeous ceramic tiles inscribed with quotes about love. This dark little ally in Dublins Temple Bar area was transformed by Anna Doran in 2018.
This install was part of the “Love The Lanes” initiative in 2014 by Dublin City Council alongside The Temple Bar Company.
The lanes and allies of Temple bar area had become dirty disused and sometimes unsafe, this initiative allows local artists to showcase their work and clean up the city. There are some other examples in the gallery above from other allies.

If you can look at this and not drool you are a stronger woman than me.
Brother Hubbard’s was recommended to me by a friend in Dublin and it did not disappoint.
We started of with a delicious Elderflower brunch Cocktail that tasted as good as it looks and them to eat i had their Breakfast Halloumi Sandwich made with a Gluten Free bun. Every single mouthful was a flavour explosion.
Late lunch at Bar Rua
I spotted this place on the ‘Find me gluten free’ app. It was gorgeous and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for an afternoon of seafood in the sun watching the people of Dublin walk by. This place was busy and even though they were definitely understaffed the team at the bar were still super friendly and helpful. This place has GF marked on their menu which did make it much easier
First of all we shared the Muscle Pot. this wasnt marked GF because it came with bread but the bar tender called the kitchen to check and they were happy to give us 2 lots of bread some Gluten Free for me and normal or my friend. They were delicious, and its rare places have gluten free bread to soak up all the yummy creamy Garlic sauce they are steamed in.
For my main meal i had the most delicious Gluten free Fish and Chips with tartare sauce i think I have ever had. They fish tasted fresh and they here not shy about loading up the plate either! YUM!!
All washed down with some yummy Crabbies ginger beer!
